Pulsare 2100 BR for Sale?

I have been searching for countless hours for a used Pulsare 2100 BR. I currently own a 1995 Pulsare 2100 and need the extra room up front (new addition to family). I recently purchased a 2001 Pulsare 2100 BR from Storm King Marine but when I arrived (7 hour drive one way!) the boat that had been described as "like new" was far from looking the part. Needless to say I left it there.

I am not interested in a boat that has been beat or has spent most of it's life being "tweeked" for those extra 2 or 3 miles per hour. I am a mature owner who takes pride in owning such a quality boat and takes care of everything I own. Therefore you can imagine that I will not be interested in a boat that has been neglected or tortured.

This next purchase will be my third Checkmate. I love my Pulsare, it has a 200 XRi and I drive it mostly on Lake Ontario. I probably would have prefered a 225HP but this boat is such a rare find, that when you see a used one for sale that is in good shape you don't get too picky!

Any help to find what I have described is appreciated! Thank you.

I have felt your pain. I have been thrugh this many times over the yaers and most recently, when my dad was looking for an 18" Checkmate I looked all over the earth for a good used one. He like you is very fussy. I drove into Minnesota twice and looked at a couple of "mint" condition boats that would best be described as garbage.

I know it is tough to find something used that will meet his expectations, but I really don't apppreciate people wasting my time when the product isn't even close to the description. He ended up buying a new 2005 1850 Pulsare from Dave in Fargo and could not be happier.

I would suggest that you give Dave a call, 1-800-451-8840. He may have something or can look for you. Even though he is quite a ways from you he has managed to ship boats to people from Southern Ontario before. Don't let the distance scare you. Dave is honest and you can go to the bank on his description when it comes to the condition of his product.:)

I also searched for a 'perfect' used 2100BR for a long time.

I wanted: Red, with white and black stripes, a 3.0 225, in excellent (my excellent) condition.

When a Pulsare owner contacted me and sent pictures, I could tell it was in 'truly' excellent condition, but the colors and motor were all wrong for me. It was white with red/orange/yellow stripes, and it had a 2.5 liter Promax 225 instead of the bigger 3.0 225. So I blew that one off for a couple/few months.

After a totally fruitless search, I re-contacted the guy and had him send me more pictures. I decided to take a drive over to Wisconsin and take a look. We basically compromised on his boat, and enjoyed it for two full years. Best boat purchase I ever made.

Still, it wasn't my 'dream boat', so I sold it. Now back to hours and days and weeks and months and years of searching again.............

I just went through all that too. I was on the hunt for an 2100BR. I happened across one in MN. It was a five hour drive one way. I had him send me many pics of entire boat. I would make my own decision on what condition it was in. Needless to say the day I went to pickup the boat it rained all the way there and back. We went for a test drive when I got there.(LOL) The two of us were wearing winter jackets and hats. It was maybe 50*. I wasn't going to purchase without a test drive. The boat lived up to all expectations but it took me about three days to clean entire boat from trailering 5 hours in the rain.

If you do come across a decent BR you'll be very happy !! I have two young boys(3 & 5) They love to sit in the bow area. It gives them their space from Mom and Dad. We stash their fishing gear in the storage locker.(for those fleeting 5-10 mins of fishing we do) You'll love the extra seating capacity too. I've had 4 adults and 4 kids seated comfortably. They really are a great all around boat !

Good luck in your search, You've come to the right place for information.

RAIN! That's right, I had rain the whole way back too! And to make matters worse, my trailer lights shorted out and I had no lights all thru chicago!

To all,

Thanks for the input. Fargo is in my favorites, I should call to see if he has used one's, but it looks like he only has new ones. I have to be realistic, a new one is out of my league $ wise.

Boatman, thanks but it is too new. Ideally a 1997 to 2002 or 2003 is more in my league. New baby, boat, ATV, snowmobile, let's face it, I am surprised the BOSS has not made me sell one of them. Trust me, when that day comes the Checkmate will be the last to go!

Wildman, I have seen your web site, love the boats, too new for me!

If anyone gets a lead on what I am looking for, please let me know.

This is my first venture into the Checkmate Fourm world.
This is a strange experience! I own a 2002 21' Pulsare closed deck. I'm sure it is a one of a kind. This boat was built for Honda Marine for the introduction of their BF 225 HP four stroke. Its a great ride and a hand full to hang on too!

If any one eles is running a similar rig let me know!

I have a 2006 Pulsare 2000BR that is like new/excellent with a 200 EFI Merc. Lots of extras... Let me know if your interested.

Thanks for the offer! I guess if I did not already own a Pulsare 2100 I would be less picky but my heart is set on a 2100 BR.

Where you from mike? I'd like to see some pix of that boat, I know one was tested by Honda a few years back and did 63 mph GPS with the 225. Same boat?

Here's a pic of myself and my youngest just toolin' around. I have the 225 efi. which seems to be a great combo.

Sorry, xsv spd

I did not mean to mislead you. I just purchased this boat last year. I'm not yet ready to sell. The boat and motor are a 2000's. This is the boat I found in Minnesota. All freshwater. I purchased the boat from a person who had the boat custom made for him(he selected colors and options). Just to give you an idea boat, motor and trailer plus extras cost me less than $20,000 USD.

P.S. I see you're from CANADA. I'm located in Wisconsin. I sold my 28' Baja last year to a couple from Ontario, Canada.

Good Luck with your search

Let me know if you'd like any pics of interior to give you an idea of layout and options.

Your boat is what I am looking for. The right age, condition and price...

I will find one someday, but at least for now I have got my own. I just wish it was a 2100BR and not the 2100. I think I can make it through another summer with it...poor me!

I have a 96 red with white and black trim,225 promax,2nd owner, garage kept its whole life. It is also for sale, any interest?

have you been in touch with lake and trail? with boat show season starting this week, they may have a possible trade coming in the next while. might be a good place to look since you are close to them.

Yes, I have been in touch with Lake and Trail. Dave and Mark have known me for years and sold me my first Checkmate ( '88 Sportfire ) about ten years ago. They do have one used Pulsare 2100 BR, I beleive it is a 2006. The guy was running a 300X on it...insane! Too new for me $$!

Dave at Lake and Trail knows about my purchase from Storm King Marine months ago...but I did not tell him that the sale fell through (refer to my original post for details). He also could not beleive the price I almost paid for that boat, motor and trailer...$13,600 USD! Too good to be true right! It sure was!

Thanks for the post and suggestion.
