Up for sale is my Pulse 1992 170 BR/1994 135 Merc...Yes this is JW's previous boat. After I bought it, I put several thousand into it to make it up to my liking including but not limited to...

Boat: Seastar Pro hydraulic steering/ Grant steering wheel, CMC manual 5.5 Jackplate, aluminum backing plates, Autometer guages (GPS speedo, Tach, water temp, water pressure, volts, fuel level), billet fuel fill/cap, new wiring, bilge pump, bow cover from Checkmate, sound system (nothing special or expensive but sufficient for me) updated decals

Engine: new Laser 23p prop, removed the timing boxes and set total advance at 23 deg. Put on oil injection block-off kit and run 50:1 premix/93 octane, new regulator/rectifiers (charging system now works perfectly), MSD plug wires, impeller, water scoops, updated decals

Trailer: Refinished with bedliner coating, new bunks/carpeting, new wiring/LED lighting Eagle wheels/MTX tires

I have had this boat to 65.1 MPH in IDEAL conditions(decent chop and tail wind) with about a 300 lb load including fuel. It will do low 60's in calm water and a full load of fuel and myself. Im looking to get something bigger/faster/louder but if there is no interest in this, I'll put on an XR6 and see if I can get her in the 70's. Hence my not giving her away.

The wood under the pasenger seat pedestal got wet and the screws had pulled out. I completely removed the problem spot under the seat and sealed the edges.... I carpeted a piece of ply and mounted the seat to it. Given the limited extent of the problem spot under the seat, it would have been silly to replace the whole floor. Both seats are now very solidly mounted.

Looks great! I like what you did with the trailer, what a difference! And the gauge package is perfect. Amazing what a 135 will do on a properly set up Checkmate. I still think the Pulse 170 is the best little boat Checkmate ever made, and they should still be making!

That makes two of my previous boats for sale on here at the same time!

Thanks. I think there might be even a little more in the set-up...at 3 in. below the pad she's still making 20-21psi wot. I've read on screamandfly to jack up the motor until pressure drops to 15psi or so) . I've also read that a laser II prop isn't good for surfacing (maybe this is just on heavier, higher hp boats)...it's amazing how well the motor likes it when the prop surfaces. I cant help but be curious how a tempest prop would act. In addition, the timing is at 23. Given it's diet of 93 octane fuel and low compression, there's really no reason the total advance should be less than 25 deg. Btw I forgot to mention in the first post that it also has a trim indicator gauge (seen in the pics).

Felt like I was doing 100!! Much less obstructed view though. I really like it. There really wasn't much of any deflection unless if I ducked down to eye level with the fairing. I need to figure out some kind of removable support for the 3 buttons of the bow cover that snaped to the back of the center windshield...,that part of the cover was flapping pretty violently..thats got to be 6 tenths of a mph :) Going from the windshield to the fairing really didnt gain me much of any top end as you predicted ...im just glad i didnt lose any. This boat would be absolutely criminal with a 200 out back!!

The time is now(before it gets warm again) to act if serious. I likely may want to just keep it given the steep cost of the next step up in boats ......especially at the price I told you. Heck I think on the day I bought it off JW, it was a whole 0 degrees that morning!!

Unfortunetly you are 22 hours away, and I don't have anywhere to keep it until next year.

It is going to have to wait, and if it is not this boat it will have to be another mate.

as much as I would love to, to fly out to take a look and then decide to haul it back just before Christmas. My marrage would be over! hehe.
