alan, did the blisters clean up well? we were really worried about how those would turn out? not sure what caused them, but the sure did exist. i can't put into words the excitement we have on getting this boat back. we're planning a ride as soon as we get it back.

we've asked for them to cut in a "glove box" on the passenger side as well as replace the weird wood grain grab handle that many of their boats from that era had. there was no wood grain, but for some reason they used what looked like a 1973 ltd grab handle. it never really fit the boat.:confused: from what i understand, most of the vinyl will be reused, which in our case, is a good thing. i'll keep posting updates as we get them from kip. if we choose to repower, it will likely be done locally.
 
as if a third immediate post doesn't show the excitement...i forgot to mention that they are replacing or repairing the deck rail hardware that had all cracked. they are also repairing the rub rail from where the rivets had begun to pop. this thing is going to be awesome. hope you guys are ready for a flood of pictures after we pick her up

alan, do you know if that "spider web" on the starboard side under the rail by the registration sticker cleaned up okay? also, if you could keep a sliver of that carpet for us, we'd be much appreciative. trying to talk pops into making some cup holders (6-8) to go inside the side rails and up front beside the seats instead of those old school plastic jobs that stuck out into the boat whenever in use.

i looked through your thread several times. the boats are very similar. we have the lower wind screen with the aluminum trim and we have quite a bit of blue flake in ours. looks like yours is mostly silver flake. stealthy, i like. great job on your build. still trying to sort out the power. 200 was good for low to mid 60's trying to talk him into a 225. we'll see.
 
What color is your stripe?

I ran a 200 Merc, then 225 Yamaha and then a 250 Etec. The 225 only brought me maybe 3 mph. Honestly it was not really a worthwhile upgrade. A 250 is a better bump and good for more like 10 mph. I spend very little time at WOT, so like, you we thoroughly enjoyed the boat even with the 200.

our stripe is very similar to the color your other boat that's pictured as your avatar. we have that blue flake on the top and bottom of the silver flake streak and a bit of blue and silver flake sprinkled in the rest of the hull, similar to your starliner. the interior looks nearly identical to your blue boat. same light vinyl with black, blue, and black stripes.

mom wasn't exactly a happy camper whenever we pushed passed the 55 mph mark. she'd start waving her hand in the "slow down" motion. a 250 to push it over 70 would likely rarely get used. that price difference between a 225 and the 200 is quite large, so no sure if the value is really there for only a few mph. mid 60's in that boat has always been a comfortable ride. what prop did you run on your 200? did you have any setback with it? we've always had a cavitation issue with our johnson whenever making sharper turns and had to back out of it and come back on plane. made tubing a bit annoying at times.
