I looked at the before and after pics you posted of the motor and Gil bracket.
As a ex welder/fabricator and builder of top fuel and prostock drag bikes
I would suggest you cut the Gil bracket shorter and reweld the tube set
back to the original mounting plates. Shorter mount and no new holes to drill.
Hell, if I was still in the business I would just fab a complete new
bracket with a built in height adjustment.
Just a thought. Do you know a welder in your area that you could trust?
