The Rebuild Begins

83 MPH at ~4900 RPM. I'm up to 110 jet on the secondary and still running out of fuel. Getting closer yet, still so far away.

85.1 at 5000 rpm and I had to let. Went to make a another pass, the boat was accelerating hard and then it sounded like it back fired through the carb pulled power back and the motor shut off. Looks like I at least lifted the head and I'm pulling the motor out this weekend to see what the damage is. :brickwall::brickwall::brickwall:

Well the motor is out and apart and it's all bad. Looks like those stock Merc rods didn't like 850 HP.

Ouch... I'm not even boosted and I opted for a forged bottom end LOL.

Probably had some detonation when you started to go lean and sheared the oil away from the bearings.

At least you were up and running a bit. I have yet to put my boat in the water and on year 2 of my motor build

I'm sure it was caused by detonation the intercooler was hot when I opened the hatch.

The boat is going to sit another year as I try to find another block. Everything from the deads down is trash and the heads will need to be cleaned up a bit.

My wife and I are expecting our first child in two months so my priorities and focus have shifted.

I did not read thru your full post but did you reach out to Jason Kunkel? The man is a master with the ProCharger set ups.
