For those who don't know, I bought Bluebeast's Enchanter a couple of weeks ago, saving it from certain destruction.
I spent the time since then installing new gauges, new steering, a windshield, various other knick-knacks, a Mariner 175 and a jackplate and generally cleaning it up.
It still needs a floor and an interior, but those will wait until fall.
So I finally got to take it out on the river yesterday. Top speed on the GPS was 62 (fastest I got with the same motor on the Eluder was 61, and on the Predictor was 59, strange it goes faster with more weight!) As usual the Checkmate drew favorable comments on the river with most to the effect of that boat looks fast.
I like the way the boat rode and handled compared to the Predictor, it as similar (but a bit better) to the Eluder.
Next phase of the summer is putting the 115 I bought last year on the Predictor and cleaning things up on that boat. I'll start a restoration thread on the Enchanter soon, and will post up some pics of what I've done so far as soon as I go outside and take them!
Thanks Bluebeast!
