New update . Got another lower unit on its way and I ordered up a impeller kit today . Im hopping it will be here like before saturday . I would like to take the lower unit with me when I head out to work on the boat saturday morning .

Well I got the lower unit I bought today along with the new impeller kit . Im heading out in the morning to put her back together . Im gunna get some comp numbers and try and fire her up tomorrow .

Got home about a hour ago from working on the boat . Got the other lower unit and impeller kit installed . Did a compression test and came back really good . # 1) 150psi # 2)160psi # 3)155psi #4)150psi. We took the control box apart to get the key number off the ignition. Was a good day lots got done to the boat . I had to heat the garage cuz it was 27 degs but other than that it was a good day to work on the boat .

Me standing next to the motor working as always while the other 2 watch go figure lol .

I think it would look good too with a Inline six on her . If we ever dicide to change power it would be from a 90-115 inline six . But probably a 90 tho . Its 14 ft boat I dont want to get to crazy. Plus this is my buddy's first boat so the 80hp will do till he gets more fimiliar with boats and boating .

My 1st boat was a 14ft 1968 G.W. Invader and the boat weighted 250-275 lbs and I mounted a 14 gal fuel cell up front for a balist weight, and had a 1979 115 Merc on her and it would ~Air Out~ and run 70-75mph on Radar -- in the early 80's and it would just be the lower unit and the prop in the water ~ what a rush~ :)

While the boat was in the driveway and after minor repairs to the captains seat. I was testing my work by jumping in it and acting like I was running it hard over a nice chop! Well my neighbor, an older gentleman who happen to have chaired the local boat race's for 25 yrs came out of his front door. And when he saw me, he yelled over wanting to know if I was WINNING!!!!!!!
Well I felt like a 6 yr old caught with his hand in a cookie jar.It was pretty funny, but I guess you had to be there!!!!!!!!!!!! :rof:

Audio,I plan on hitting LSC alot this coming summer, Hope U get it together and come out find me!(Hint:Browns,Deckers,Gull,Mos Bay)

Well I figured I would post up a update since I havent in a few months . Just about got everything put back together . Put in new shift/throttle cables . Got the new steering cable back thru the motor just have to mount the new rack and helm . Bought a new 12 gallon tank for her , a bilge pump etc. Shes just about ready to hit the water . Soon as it softens up first

I can help you with the interrior, stereo, wiring if u want.

Im actually really good with all of that . But thank you for offering your help . This is my buddies boat ive done the hard work he can worry about the rest of it . Its time to go get mine and start getting it ready .

Well we went out and finally fired up the little 80 hp merc for the first time since we have had it . It fired right too which was a big plus . It was surging a some too but I found that the fuel line betwen both carbs is leaking a good amount of fuel . So thats another thing to fix before she hits the water . The water tube has some mud in it I have to clean that out too . Other than that shes just about ready . Here are some pictures from saturday .

Going out today and going to try and wrap this up . Going to replace that leaking fuel line and clean the tell tale out . Than clean it up some and it should be ready to go ...

Here was the progress from Saturday . Removed the starter to get to the carbs so we could replace the fuel line between the carbs . Got the tell tale clean and has a nice steady stream of water coming from it . Than a few wires got in the way and got broke but its needs a new harness any how. I fixed the broken wires so it would run . The fuel line corrected the surging problem . She now just needs to be cleaned up some and repack the wheel bearing in the trailer and shes ready to make a trip up to the lake . Than we will be getting those pics posted up too ...
