While you were gone, JW got me in trouble over on Scream and Fly

Well there was a couple of people talking about the Fantasy/Paradise boat and a couple of them wanted to know where to get this telling them exactly where to get one.

I told them.

That I was getting ready to build that same boat, and here it is.

It would be called the RealityGTX.

RealityGTX-008.jpg

and then below the pic I put the specs.

Like this:

L.O.A................................13ft-1in
Beam................................66inches
Approximate Weight............300pds
Fuel Capacity.......................6 Gallons(removable)
Maximum Capacity...............2 Persons
Max HP Rating......................50HP

Standard Equipment:
Single Ride Guide Steering
Custom Steering Wheel
Color Keyed Bench Seat
Speedometer
Marine Horn
Bilge Pump

Optional Equipment:
AM/FM Stereo w/CD and 2 speakers
Tachometer
Radar Wing

M.S.R.P..............................$4,500 Standard Edition

and then I put a link to the site right here: www.realityboatco.com

While JW did encourage me to post about the boat, he may not have expected me to put up a post like that. But I did get an IM later from him with the message"ah ha ha you got edited" or something like that.

I suspected that it wasn't gonna last.

Heck Chris, I think I owe you a hundred just to cover how many times this post has been quoted in this thread alone. Never thought it would go on this long thats for sure.

I started a thread to pick on JW, and look what happened.

Coop I think it's a great lookin boat, keep up the good work.

Guys,

My post wasn't really directed at you. It was more directed at some of the guys over on Scream that are constantly telling Greg how he should run his board, or what he doesn't do right, etc. And too often the guys doing the whining are the same guys that expect the world from Greg yet have never bothered to donate a dime. As far as I'm concerned, Scream is an excellent site. PERIOD. What I was trying to do was put things in perspective. That was all. If it came as that my post was directed at y'all than I apologize. It really wasn't.

Chris, I just read your post now and I paused to think about how nice it was of you to say all of that. Your words really meant a lot to me. You totally made my day Chris - thank you. :)

It's no mystery why this is the only other boating site that I visit everyday. Thanks again Chris, for your kind words and this site.

Greg :)

Greg I think Sream-n-Fly is a great site and I'm very glad to be a junior member of it I have learned a great deal, I have to commend you and Chris for takeing the time to set up such great information and makeing it easy to share info back and forth, I think that if more people took the time to collect the info and share like all of us alot of the info on the hundreds of boats that were made in the 50's,60's, 70's, and some in the 80's would'nt be lost. I have known and seen that there were alot of little boat companies here in Indiana that were never big and alot have been forgotten, I have tried to do resurch on the G.-W. Invaders they were made 1964-1972 and were before their time, nicked named ( the boats that could fly ) the 10 ft 64-68 yr models were rated for 50 hp and the boat only weighted 200lbs I had a 1968 14 ft that was rated for 95 hp and I had a 115 hp 90% of the time I ( rode the bullet ) there were really cool tunnel hulls built by G-W Invader too I found a pic of a 16 ft with twin Scott motors on it on the site FiberGlassics.com cool site if you like the ( odd and unique 50's ) boats thanks again Greg and Chris ---Reed

Well it's easy to say nice things Greg when someone is a good person. I always see you helping everyone on your board. It's very commendable.

Guys,

Some of my earlier post was somewhat motivated by a few things I saw on Scream a few weeks ago that I didn't think were fair. I guess I was also trying to explain what I thought some of the rationale of some of the policies that Scream has with respect to commercial advertising. And since we've adopted some of the same policies ourselves, I doubt I'm far off.

Apparantly, I just didn't put my post into context very well. :o

Guys, this is the kind of guy Greg is ok.

Greg and I exchange the odd email. In one, I told him I had been working on a new vBulletin site and I mentioned that I was having problems making the conversion and had been for some time. It was just something that was just mentioned in passing on my part. Greg immediately offered his help if I needed it. He basically said that he was very familiar with vBulletin and offered to help out in any way needed.

When we opened the new site, Greg put up a really nice thread in his main forum with a link to our site telling people to check out how great the new site looks. I don't know too many other webbies out there that would do that. It just wouldn't happen. They're too competitive.

When the pbcc was trying to set up their website after incountering a few problems, who immediately stepped up with a template skin and offered his help. You guessed it. Greg.

Compare that with OSO where you've got this buy a membership box in your face and you basically can't do much unless you pay a fee.

I hope that explains the mindset of my earlier post. ;)

Tell me about it, around here sometimes breathing wrong gets me in trouble. How about you Brian, you been in trouble lately?

Chris, thank you so much. Although I don't think I deserve all of those kind words - helping people is something I enjoy. It's also clear to me that you enjoy doing the same thing.

I still remember the very first mail you sent me. I read your posts all the time, and we both know that many times doing the right is not very easy at all. Running a public message forum that's growing fast (like this one) is a task that most people underestimate. Internet psychology should be a required course for the major in college! But we also both know the rewards of helping people and watching others help fellow boaters.

You have created a community here that very few boards have been able to achieve - it's a place that I feel good just being a part of.

Thank you Chris, for this board and for your kind words. I hope we get to meet someday really soon.
