Winter plans 2010/2011

  • Thread starter Thread starter TheNerd
  • Start date Start date
For sure......

1) 3.0 Merc
2) 10" setback
3) Beefed up transom
4) 25-26P prop
5) New boat cover
6) Polish, Polish , Polish
7) BOTM in June, July, and August

Maybe..........

1) New gauge set
2) Steering
3) Re-finish the trailer

I'm going to be watching your build closely being we have pretty much the same plans. Except your boat already looks tons better than mine!!

The following is in order for this winter:

1) - 6" jack plate
2) - Hydraulic Steering
3) - Limo black tint for the windshield
Last but not least
1962 Vette Fuelie 327 - 360 HP for the tow vehicle.

This is what will be restored this winter.

Is that an original motor for a 62? You sure you wanna do that? :eyecrazy:

The motor is the original but was rebuilt 6 years ago for the newer gas.
It has never been installed in the car yet. Motor and trans both were done and are sealed/wrapped up.

I sold all my Vettes 36 years ago and miss driving one. It will be used as often as I have the time. I don't believe in hiding them. What is the sense
of owning it if you don't use it. What a waste.

ive got big ideas, and no money!!

You and me both brother! HAHA

This list may take more than one season to accomplish. I need a raise.

#1....IM GOING TO GET MY F#$@*% MOTOR TO RUN FOR A WHOLE SEASON!!!

At least the GF's dad owns a CarQuest.......and she's getting me the rebuild parts and gaskets for x-mas.

#2.....I need hyd. steering bad. (only if #1 is accomplished)

#3.....Call B-Blades and find a prop that will get my hull more out of the water (I can't get the boat to air out with the B1 24p).

#4.....build some flip-up wind deflectors.

#5.....Finish installing my stereo that gets put on the back burner when the engine fails.

#6.....Paint over my outdated graphics (I really want to get rid of the magenta and yellow) and paint my windscreen to set it apart.

But with a new house, we will see just how far I get. Im keeping my fingers crossed.

I agree, use it if you got it. I'd just think that the motor is worth a ton of $$$ to the guy who is looking for that specific one for his 62 vette and for what you could get in cash, you could buy one hell of a crate motor for towing and have a years worth of left over cash for fuel!

This thread was started to discuss plans for boats, its not a car resto thread. If Winter and JT Patroni would like to have a thread all about an old Corvette please start one. Just a thought, but maybe you could PM each other back and forth with this old Corvette mumbo jumbo. Please dont Hijack threads. Thank you.

Please dont post any smart remarks and drag out the Hijack, just PM them to me. Thank you

You might just want to consider mounting a 9.9 merc on a kicker bracket to the swim platform :poke:

:lol:I was figurin those fancy trollin motors that mount on the trim tabs! Seeing as I have three batteries.........And when the motor is runnin, I can turn them on for an extra 3 hp! I might be on to something.....do they make a 27p plastic trolling motor prop?

And just play a sound track of a healthy big block on the stereo......haha.:bigthumb:

Don't think that all of that hasn't been thought of....but thanks for pointing it out anyways:p

Well, lets see how we should address your rude and unnecessary remarks.

Since you had your say in public, I shouldn't have to follow YOUR INSTRUCTIONS and keep my response in a private message. You have opened the flood gates, so here comes the water.

You opened a thread under Play To Win. This happens to be an open thread for any and all topics that don't fit any of the more specific catagories. "SO FAR NO HI JACK".

Next, you title the thread "Winter plans 2010/2011". That didn't mention any restrictions on info posted. Again "SO FAR NO HI JACK".

I only mentioned the Vette as part of my overall winter plans that coincide with the boat work. Again "SO FAR NO HI JACK"

The fact that winter asked a good question in a open thread is in no way a Hi Jack especially in an open forum with a non specified topic.
