Kip Thanks, hydrolic steering the bolt snapt out of the steering plate of the engine.

Glad to hear everyone is ok....I posted about that particular connection for the Sea Star Systems last fall. It is a problem area. I had a softer grade steel bolt in mine, and after 4 years of use, I noticed one day after boating that it was bent to the point that it caused a lot of slop. I think a hard grade of bolt in that connection is the wrong way to go. Anyone out there an expert on bolts regarding softer grade vs. harder steel? I feel that the softer grade bolt (something that can bend without breaking) is what you need.

Always check that connection before every run.

No problem Kip, i wil take some photo's of the bottum when the boat is free from the trailer, en sent it to you.

From all those pictures, the boat does not look totaled. Could you please send me some pictures of the actual damage? I'm sure you could find a private person to do the fix work for you? Thanks. E-mail me the pics!

HEY BUBBA, MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY. I'M GLAD TO HEAR THAT EVERYONE IS OK. FROM THE PICTURES IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE THERE IS TO THE HULL. I WOULD NOT GIVE UP THE SHIP YET. I'VE SEEN RACE BOATS WITH HULLS TORN WIDE OPEN AND STRINGERS BROKEN BUT THEY ALWAYS CAN BE PUT BACK TOGETHER, SOMETIMES EVEN STRONGER THAN BEFORE. THAT'S THE GREAT THING ABOUT FIBERGLASS, YOU CAN ALWAYS REPAIR IT. SEE IF YOU CAN POST SOME PICTURES OF THE DAMAGE. MAYBE KIP CAN ADD SOME INPUT AFTER REVIEWING THE PICTURES. I WILL ALSO TRY TO GUIDE YOU IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION. I WORKED IN THE ACIVE THUNDER FACTORY FOR 3 YEARS AND KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO BUILD A STRONG BOAT.

OUCH!!! man, sorry to hear about your offroading adventure. Very good to hear that everyone is ok!!!

By the looks of the pics, it seems your baby is one tough cookie.... obviously without seeing more shots down under it's hard for me to tell what kind of damage she did take... but from what I can see... it looks like she didn't really get to banged up at all... that would be a good thing she had something "soft" to land on.... (compared to concrete or a tree or worse)

Good luck with her my friend!!

How fast were you going when you took the turn. The boat as a whole looks ok right now, what did you drive over to arrive at the point where the boat stopped. What condition is the transom and engine in after that wild ride?
Glad nobody was hurt

I doubt that boat is done. I've seen a lot of boats that looked pretty bad and were repaired to good as new.

my.02 is if its insured and they are willing to total it , take the $$$$$$$and run ! if you can buy it for salvage , maybe it would be worth it, motor probably ran dry for how long ???? do you have people near you bubba that do that kind of work correctly ? we take a lot for granit over here . if that was my boat and it had to be repaired , it would be on its way to ohio !!!!! either way we feel for you !

like bob says i think the are total this one, there is a hole in the front and some very bad kraks on the bottom. i go to my dealer when the insurence is there and take some photo's, bob good point about the running dry of the engine, i never tought about that THANKS! i wil call my dealer about that!

Sorry about your luck (if you want to call it that) Bubba. Relieved to here family is okay! From the pics Chris has posted, where is the hole in the boat? It didn't roll over did it? Evenso, don't be scared man!! Jump right back into that horse and show 'em...U-R-KNOT-A-FRAID. Guess how many times I have wrecked a snowmobile!?! Still jump back on it and

Get the boat you have always wanted. I/O's are great, it's the fuel bill that sucks!!

Quote....." after extensive research , the American Automobile Association and the National Traffic Saftey Council have come to the conclusion that boats are not designed for off road use . They operate best in water " . Glad everyone is safe . Material things can be replaced . Human life can not .

AFTER REVIEWING THE PICTURES OF THE BOAT IN THE WEEDS, I CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT A PULSARE WOULD LOOK REALLY COOL WITH A FORD F250 4X4 FRAME AND MUD TIRES MOUNTED UNDERNEATH!!
