    Jack Plate Help?!

    I have a '78 Checkmate Predictor w/a '78 Merc 900. Any advice on a Jack Plate Set Back? Looking at a bargain for a 6" set back. Since the boat is a 17 footer, I've been told that's likely a good set back distance. Any opinions would be appreciated!!! :brickwall: Thx.

    Saved from the grave. I just picked up a '79 Predictor hull in Ohio. Interior is stripped, but hull in sound and totally water tight. Floor is in great condition. Would need minor resin work on interior. Exterior has a few cracks in gel coat, but no structural problems. Transom is 100%...

    Thanks! I think the one on it now is a 15 pitch. I had a vendor suggest a 19 pitch which seemed to be a big jump. I'll follow your lead though...thanks.

    Happy to be a new (old) owner of a 1978, 16' Predictor w/90 HP Merc. Got it for $1K !!! It's been well maintained and just needs a little TLC to bring it back to a better life!!! Need some help on Prop purchase. Looks like it has a 15 pitch on it now and WOT speed is approx. 37 @ 5000 rpm...

    Hello folks!! I'm a Newbie but glad to be a part of the Checkmate Owner's "guild"! I was fortunate enough to pick up a 1978 Predictor w/a Merc 900 this week....for $1000.00 !!! Runs great, sound all over, needs a little cosmetic work...nothing major. We had it out on Higgins Lake in MI...
