    Enticer or Diplomat

WOW, that is in great shape. I have a black '85 that is nowhere near as nice. Looks just like mine, even the trailer looks the same (except my trailer is black). What is the asking price? Don't worry, I'm not gonna buy it, I'm just curious.

    Bimini Top

I'm curious too. I've been thinking about buying some 20 oz canvas and having a guy i know that sews leather sew it up to the proper dimensions for me. The cost of the canvas is around 70.00, plus whatever he'd charge for labor. Otherwise, it seems like the "boat cover" shops around here want...

    Fuel Guage problem

85 enticer Fuel guage is powered by a switch on the dash. The wires running to the guage are pink, purple, black, and blue. Black was hooked to ground, blue is for the guage light. Purple goes to a terminal labled "I", and pink goes to a terminal labled "S". When no juice is flowing to it...

    Boat Insurance

how does boat insurance work? say someone runs into my boat while it is parked on the street and ruins the outboard. The motor is a 1974 merc 1150. they wouldn't send a check for $8000 to get a new motor would they?

'74 merc 1150 locks up in reverse

I rebuilt the lower unit on this beast over the winter, because i had no reverse. Once opened up, i discoverd the shift cam was broke. I replaced with a new one and figured all would be good. Took to the lake for first test run today, and when putting into reverse, the prop shaft would seize...

spark plug gap for 70's Merc 115...anyone know?

my '74 1150 uses plugs that don't require a gap. This link shows a picture of the plug-It is an L76V http://www.polsteins.com/ch1l7masppl.html

    shredded gears

rebuild the lower unit. not as tough as you might think. just did my '74 merc outboard lower. 1st time i've ever worked on a boat motor. The repair manual makes it sound harder than it really is. Take pictures or make drawings as you take things apart, to help you remember how it all goes...

No reverse on old merc 1150

My '74 merc 1150 will not reverse. Forward works just fine, although when it engages it does 'bump' a little. When moving into reverse, it sounds like a couple bearings rattling around inside a coffee can. When I am on land and have the water wings on, the prop DOES move in a reverse...
