86 Exciter Resto

That looks awesome:drool: Someday, I hope to do the same with my boat.
The blue looks like it matches the original color really well. What type
of paints did you use. Brand? Color? Thanks Jon

The color was a custom match he made in house. He has all of the different colors that he mixes and the computer scanner to tell him what to add. The paint and clear was all Sikkens products.

No progress as of yet, but I will get back at it on Monday:thumb:

I finally found some time this evening to get some work on the boat done. I spent a couple hours wet sanding, which I probably didn't need to do, but I wanted it to look like glass:D There were a few small imperfections that I was able to get out along with loosing the edges were the solid color meets the flake.

Tomorrow I plan to get the jack plate mounted and start back on the wiring. I will try to post some pics towards the end of the week with her sitting out in the sun:bigthumb:

I can't wait to see pictures of the boat out in the sun. From the pictures in the paint booth the shine is impeccable.:thumb:

Progress as of tonight... I finished up the wet sanding tonight, and got the jack plate, engine mount and mid section mounted on the back last night. Tomorrow I will get her washed clean and get a buffer on it before I leave for a bachelor party weekend:D

I will snap a few shots and post them up before I leave. Monday I will get back on the wiring and post some more pics of that progress:thumb:

The long awaited and way past due photo update:eyecrazy:

The whole boat is buffed out, but still needs wax. Tomorrow I will wax it and finalize the hardware install, after a quick wash. The pollen has been terrible so there is a constant coat of dirt/pollen on it.

The rub rail is installed, what a b*tch that was:brickwall: The heat gun was the ticket on that.

Once I complete the hardware, I will get back on the wiring as I thought I would on Monday.

Here are some pics from today - I can't wait to get it cleaned up, waxed and some pictures in the sun:bigthumb:

Painter did a great job. Looks factory. How many times did you hit your shin before setting a cone there. lol

Surprisingly, None! It's more for the dogs when they are running around like maniacs. A vet bill for a head contusion would cut into the Resto and Chesapeake weekend budget. Better safe than sorry:thumb:

Looks awesome! We have the pollen up here right now too. That's the main reason it has a cover on it even when its inside its instant garage. Maybe you could find a couple of king size bed sheets to cover her with until you get a cover?

I did end up getting a cover, but haven't felt like putting it on and taking it off everyday I'm working on it. Once I get a little further along, I will start to keep her covered again.

I even took three sides off the instant garage, it was getting too stuffy in there. I should be looking good by the end of this weekend, I'm shooting to make the Manhattan run:bigthumb:

Finally!:irked: I just unloaded off the delivery truck and loaded my powerhead in the back of my truck:banana: Seems as thought Fedex freight wanted to take my powerhead on a country wide tour. It has been a cluster Fk since it left Florida. They put it on the wrong truck, sent it to the west coast, couldn't find it, held up here and there, but after nearly 4 weeks it back home:o I will reunit it with the balance of the engine this weekend:bigthumb:

I wasn't planning on getting into the engine until this weekend, but a buddy of mine stopped by to check it out, so we bolted it up. I will post up some pics of the power head later, but it looks like NEW:drool: Can't wait to get it fired up:D Here are a couple pics with the redone cowls

I hope have her fired up on Sunday

Made some excellent progress today! The engine & jack plate are finalized, all hardware is reinstalled, entire boat is waxed, gas tank is set and the rigging tubes are installed. I will get on the wiring tomorrow and plan to be done with everything by the end of the week:bounce:

I will post some pics and a more detailed update tomorrow:cheers:
