Dear Checkmate Members I Would Like to share with You a Email that I sent to My Dear Friend Chris Thanking Him for all that he has Done for Me on this Checkmate Forum.

Dear Chris I want to Thank You My Dear Friend for all the Kind Words you said about me in the August Presidents Blog Post. I Can't Begin to Tell You how Much it Meant to Me and that You Really Touched My Heart. You My Dear Friend over the Years with PM's and Emails you know More About Me than anyone else on Your Forum. I am sure You know that Sometimes I write with a Lot of Sentimental Feelings and that what I say or Write Comes From My Heart. I Can't Begin to Tell You My Dear Friend How Much I Miss My Action Marine and My Wonderful Friends and Customers. Action Marine and My Friends and Customers were the Best Part of My Life. Its Funny Dear Chris that the Driving Force Behind all that I did at My Action Marine,Mercury Marine, Hydrostream and Checkmate was Not about Money. To Me it was Always About Doing what Others have Not Done Before Me. It was all About Building Faster Boats and Motors than anybody Else and Being Number One in the Life's and Hearts of My Customers and Dear Friends from Mercury Marine,Hydrostream and Checkmate. Many Times I read Different Post on Your Checkmate Forum and I Wish that Many of Your Members Including Yourself Could of Belonged to My Action Marine and I Could of Built You Guys Some of the Awesome Checkmate Boats that I Built for My Other Customers. To have You Guys Run with the Action Marine Pack on Weekends and to Enjoy all that Belonging to Action Marine had to Offer. Many times We had 25 or 30 Checkmates Running together having Fun and Racing other Boats. I can Tell You My Friend it was No Fun for the other Hi-Performance boats that we Found to Race LOL. I loved being able to Bring Pleasure to My Customers and Friends. To Give them what No Other Dealer Could of done for them. I Loved Teaching them how to Race and Win with there Checkmates. Chris when My Racing Team Mates Raced at the NDBA every one of them took first place in there Class at every Race we Entered. Many Times Chris I did Performance Up Grades for them at No Charge just so they all would Win with there Checkmates. Sometimes I see Some of Your Members on Your Forum having trouble Driving there Checkmates and Chine Walking. How I Wish I could Take Each One of them Out on the Water with there Checkmates and Teach them the way I Taught My Customers how to Drive there Checkmates Fast without Chine Walking and being Safe Doing it. It Would Not Take me 20 Minutes to Teach them how to get the Most out of there Checkmates and Look Really Good at it without all that BS Chine Walking. You know what the Hardest Thing for Me was when Teaching My Customers how Not to Chine Walk there Checkmates was? it was for Me to Try and get there Checkmates to start to Chine Walking so I Could Show them How to Stop it LOL. That was so Hard for Me to Make these Boats Chine Walk. Even My First 1969 16ft Checkmate My V161 with the Mercury 125hp on it at 18 years Old I Never Experienced Chine Walking even at 64 mph. I Guess I was Born to Drive Fast Boats LOL. Well My Dear Friend I Talked Your Ear off Long Enough LOL. Thank You Again My Dear Friend from the Bottom of My Heart for all that You have Done for Me. I Will Never Ever Forget it. Your Friend Always Sammie Action Marine

Well, I might agree that hiding the make could make a boat, a sleeper.

I doubt anyone being fooled by that paint though, and word will get around pretty quick to leave the big red/white and blue beast alone unless you can lay down 95+ in big water.

Big red/white and blue beast ---- love it ;)

Word is already getting out there, -- I've had people in the marina I keep my mate at ask me "if I've heard anything about the new 43ftr from Checkmate" --- and I heard somebody at a boat gathering last weekend talking about Chekmates new "mega racer" --- {that was a Fountain owner}

That angry beast of a boat is going to get A LOT of attention. Love the whole package and wish I had the disposable income to build one. Looking forward to more video of it running--looks and sounds B.A!

PROP ???

Delivered this Tuesday to the Seelye Wright Toy Store in Kalamazoo, Mich., the first new Checkmate 43 Punisher V-bottom reportedly topped 85 mph before leaving the Checkmate plant in Bucyrus, Ohio. According to Doug Smith, the owner of Checkmate, the stepped hull 43-footer with twin Mercury Racing 700SCi engines was over-propped with it 35-inch pitch Mercury propellers, and a new set of Mercury 33-inch props is on its way to the Kalamazoo-based dealership.
“With the 35s, the most we could get out of the engines was 4,850 rpm, and we’re supposed to get 5,300 up top,” said Smith. “With the 33s, we expect the boat to run around 93 mph.”
According to Jeff Kopec, the general manager of the power sports division for Seelye-Wright Toy Store—the owner of the dealership bought the first model for himself—they also will test the 43-footer with Hering propellers courtesy of CK Motorsports.
“We’re shooting for 90-plus mph,” said Kopec.
At present, the 43 Punisher is at the famed Mitcher T Custom Painting for touch-up work. Most likely, the 43-footer will not be completed in time to make next weekend’s Lake of the Ozarks Shootout in Missouri, which originally was part of the dealership’s plan.
“Much as we’d like it, I just don’t foresee that happening,” said Kopek. “We don’t want to take it there until it’s absolutely perfect.”
Acccording to Smith, Seelye Wright Toy Store is Checkmate's largest dealer

Boatman it has Nothing to do with who was Right or Who was Wrong. Everything I have Posted on the 43ft and the 26ft Came Directly From Doug Smith to Me and Not from any other Web site or Source. I have Never Been one to do Much in Posting on the Forum and the Only Reason I Took the Time to Post Pictures and Up-Dates on the 26ft and 43ft was Because I Believe in My Heart that My Dear Friend Chris and all the Fine Checkmate Members here on this Checkmate Forum Deserved to get The Information on these two New Products First Before any Other Web Site. I have quietly helped many Checkmate members over the years with Private PM's Emails, and Phone Calls and I have Never been in Competition with anyone on this Forum or have I tried to Impress anyone with My Life's Accomplishments. I am Very Proud to Be a Member here on this Awesome Checkmate forum and to do what I can for everyone. With that Being Said I have The Up Most Respect and Admiration For Randy the WILDMAN and the Beautiful and Extremely Fast Checkmates that He Builds. Years Ago I even sent Randy a PM Telling Him How Beautiful the Checkmates that He Builds. I will Tell You this anybody that Buys a Checkmate From Randy is Very Lucky to have Him as there Checkmate Dealer and if I wasn't the Person I am, I would have Randy Build Me a New Checkmate Outboard. Boatman I have Never Tried to Take Away any Thing from Anyone on this Forum or there Accomplishments with there Life's and Checkmates. I have Often said My Hats go off to each and everyone here for all they have Accomplished with there Life's and Checkmates. My Love for Checkmate Boats and this Great Checkmate Forum is Second to None. Now as Far as this 43ft Checkmate it Should Run in the 90's. I said that before the boat ever Hit the Water. Checkmate had very Little Testing time in the Right Water Conditions to even Come Close to getting the Maximum out of this New 43ft Checkmate. There is a Lot More to Setting up a Hi-Performance Boat to Run its Maximum Speed than just Changing Props. There is No way Anyone could know Right Now what Props are to Big or to Small Until the Ventilated Bottom has Been Maxed out with the Proper Size Holes to Ventilate the Bottom to Reduce the Drag of the Hull to the Very Minimum. The Outdrive Height also Needs to be set up to the Maximum Height for the Motor,Hull and Outdrive Combination In order to be able to get the Maximum Speed out of any Boat, Motor or Prop Combination. Thank You Sammie Action Marine

OK, before this gets out of control, I wasn't trying to start anything or be offensive towards you. I just know for sure that Randy spends alot of time on the phone with Cmate every week and if he post something about a Cmate, he is right 99 11/10's of the time. That was all that was meant, "he was right again". Sorry if I offended you.

Am I the only person thats a little disappointed the 43 isn't at least cracking 100 M.P.H.

Thought I understand this is checkmates first go at a boat this size. And with the new lighter composite materials they aired on the side of smaller motors. And I'm not the one writing the checks.

Still I wish they would have opted for the 850 HP merc motors...

Just sayn... Flame suit on.
