My latest project. 13ft Paradise/Playmate copy

I took the boat out again today. I got it running right now that I fixed the broken fuel and bleeder lines. I could only hold it open for about 10 seconds before the overheat horn would go off. It has a Torquemaster case with only side water intakes. The shaft is 4.5" below the bottom, but for some reason, it sucks air when I get up to speed. I only expected to be able to run about 60 before it got out of control. I discovered that if I keep the nose in the water a bit, it's not to bad to drive. Now for the biggest surprise.

I was by myself, so no way to video it. I hope to next time. I was very surprised that the boat could be driven at those speeds. If the boat had a pad, I'm sure it would really scream. I told the wife about it. She asked if I had a death wish! I just said "NO" but it sure was fun! Here's some more pics from today.

Flip it and put an 8" pad on the bottom Randy!!

What a perfect boat for a mint old XS motor......................

Randy, is there a difference in hull design between the Playmate and Paradise? I though the hull was identical???

I think my Playmate has a small pad...maybe 4" or 5". I would go out and look, but it is too damn cold!

I will check....Get it, Check. lol:shakehead:

Randy, that's the cat's a$$!! :rof:

I keep waiting for the 60 to get installed to see what you think of it with 1/4 the power......................

Well the Promax came off yesterday. I put the 60hp Merc on today. Looks like a damn peanut motor, but I guess it will keep me alive for a while. It still should do 55-58 mph.

IT WILL STAY STOCK. I HAVE PLENTY OF OTHER MOTORS AND BOAT IF I WANNA GO FASTER. THIS WILL BE MY "SLOW" BOAT!

amazing ! just reread whole thread :thumb:. you got a prop ready for the 60hp ? i'm sure you'll post up new #'s / vid with it !

I never could find a prop, so I special ordered a race cleaver 3 months ago. No one makes a stock prop bigger than a 17" except Mercury and they retail at close to $800! The one I'm getting is a 20" and still cost $400. They tell me every week that I'll get it next week. Maybe next week!
