Starting floor stringer repairs

Ok question, I have read several threads here about repairs done with non wood products to replace ratted stringers and floors what are the name of some of these products and haw did they work out for you?

I'm curious, what year is your Pulsare? I don't have your answer above, but you'll be sure to get it here or on scream and fly

Go hear for info on the product and how to use it....

Im doing a transom right now, but im doing it oldschool...., just finished the stringers and ribs. Bout to add knee braces and redo the transom hopefully by the end of the week they should be all glassed and ready to go.

@JW the boat is a 1996 has a soft spot on the drivers side starting right in front of the rear bench.

thanks guys I've done this before using wood on another project but I've seen some threads on the site where people used other non wood products and I thought I would ask how they work for them.

I've looked into the Coosa product and Seacast but I've also seen some threads on something called Matex (I think) but have been unable to find anything on it online. Just trying to check out all options. I live the boat but i only want to do this once.

Coosa is one of the better choices for non water absorbing material.

We have several boat mfgr's here is S. Jersey that use it for their transoms/stringers, even on 36' models with a pair of 300's hanging off the back. It is a closed cell product. I thought about using it, but went with Meranti Hydroteck plywood instead.
All my wood was covered with glass prior to installation. I know you don't want to use wood and I am not saying you should. I just didn't want to spend the extra money. If the factory wood lasted 25 years in my hull without encapsulating it and I encapsulated my replacement wood, it should last even longer at a cheaper price. Weight wasn't an issue for me.

After looking into the product I would give it a thumbs up for new boat construction.

I am sure someone can and will find fault with Coosa but it is one of the better choices at this time barring the money issue.

Thanks not sure what I'm doing wrong but i will keep adding pics to the photobucket album. I can't seem to attach pics directly to this thread like you did. I thing the floor will be cut out by the end fo the week.

Don't add the link, use copy and paste instead. Right click and copy the picture that you want to post then paste in the thread you started.

I had the same problem when I tried to post from photobucket.

Do just as cmpulse170 said. Before you actually do the paste,
eliminate the http that appears in the forum "Insert Image" box. Then do the paste.

Are you thinking of SEACAST?

I used sea cast in my transom on my Trimate in 2005 and it worked out fantastic . I was kinda worried about the weight if it would make it sit to low in the water but next to another Trimate she still sits right about were she should . The transom is nice and solid now . Im going to use it again on my Vmate project im working on too .

Yeah, i looked at it... But i went old school on my sidewinder and used the wood/glass on the stringers/transom/knee braces/deck... :D
